Studio Policies & Terms
Thank you for considering a portrait experience with Kimberly Kingen Photography.
My goal is to create an enjoyable, relaxed experience for both you and your dog while producing timeless artwork that celebrates your connection. The following studio policies are designed to ensure every session runs smoothly and that expectations are clear for everyone involved.
By booking a session, purchasing a gift certificate, or otherwise engaging Kimberly Kingen Photography for photography services, you acknowledge that you have read and agree to these studio policies.

The Portrait Experience
Sessions with Kimberly Kingen Photography are designed as a guided portrait experience. Your session includes professional photography, image preparation, and a personalized ordering appointment where you will view your portraits and select your favorite artwork and images.
Most clients choose to invest in custom wall art, albums, or digital portraits after seeing their images.
Session fees cover the time and creative expertise required to photograph and prepare your images for viewing. Artwork and digital images are purchased separately unless otherwise specified.
Booking & Reservations
A session is officially reserved once the session fee has been paid and the studio agreement has been accepted.
Session fees are non-refundable, as they reserve time on the studio calendar and begin the creative preparation process for your session.
If you need to reschedule your session, please notify the studio at least 48 hours in advance so a new date can be arranged.
Ordering Appointments & Artwork
After your session, you will be invited to a guided ordering appointment where you will view your portraits and select your favorite images and artwork.
All artwork, albums, prints, and digital portraits are custom produced specifically for you. Because of the custom nature of photography products:
Orders are final after 24 hours
Products cannot be cancelled or refunded once production has begun
Approved order production timelines vary depending on the product, but are typically 10-12 weeks.
Image Ownership & Copyright
All photographs created by Kimberly Kingen Photography remain the intellectual property and copyright of the photographer.
Images may not be copied, altered, screenshot, or reproduced without permission. This includes preview images shared online or through gallery links.
Purchased digital images include a personal use license, allowing clients to print and share their portraits for personal use.
Commercial use or reproduction without written permission is not permitted.
Sharing Your Portraits
I love seeing clients share their portraits and celebrate their dogs.
Once images have been purchased and delivered, they may be shared online for personal use. Credit to Kimberly Kingen Photography is always appreciated when posting on social media.
To maintain the integrity of the portrait experience and ensure the best possible results, personal photography during sessions is not permitted.
Studio Use of Images
Images created during sessions may be used by Kimberly Kingen Photography for portfolio display, studio marketing, website content, social media, educational materials, competition submissions, or publication.
If a client has privacy concerns, this can be discussed prior to the session.
Pet Safety & Session Environment
The safety and comfort of every dog is a top priority.
Clients are responsible for maintaining control of their dogs throughout the session and must disclose any behavioral concerns such as reactivity, anxiety, or aggression in advance.
Sessions may take place in environments where other dogs, people, or wildlife may be present. If your dog prefers quieter environments, arrangements can often be made.
Unless otherwise agreed upon, dogs remain on leash during sessions. If a dog is permitted off leash, the owner assumes full responsibility for the dog’s behavior and safety.
Pet Health & Preparation
To ensure a safe environment for all pets, please reschedule your session if your dog is experiencing any contagious illness.
For the best portrait results, dogs should arrive clean and well-groomed. If professional grooming is part of your routine, scheduling it about one week before your session is ideal so coats look natural and settled.
If your dog has mobility challenges or special needs, please let the studio know so accommodations can be made.
Session Timing
Please arrive on time for your scheduled session.
Late arrival may result in a shortened session or cancellation depending on the schedule that day.
Sessions conclude once the photographer determines that sufficient high-quality images have been captured.
Artistic Style & Editing
All portraits are edited in the signature artistic style of Kimberly Kingen Photography.
Image selection and artistic editing decisions are made at the photographer’s discretion to ensure consistency with the studio’s style and quality standards.
Additional retouching requests may be accommodated when possible and may incur additional fees.
Image Archiving
Portrait sessions are archived for six months following your session date.
After this time, files may be permanently removed from the archive. Clients are responsible for downloading and backing up any purchased digital images.
Privacy & Client Information
Client contact information and session details are stored securely and used only for studio communication and record keeping.
Your information will never be sold or shared with outside parties.
Liability
While every effort is made to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience, participation in portrait sessions is at the client’s own risk.
Kimberly Kingen Photography cannot be held responsible for injuries, accidents, or incidents involving pets or participants during a session.
In the unlikely event of circumstances beyond the photographer’s control—such as equipment failure, illness, weather conditions, or other unforeseen events—liability is limited to a refund of any fees paid.
Policy Updates
Studio policies may occasionally be updated to reflect changes in services or studio operations.
The most current version of these policies will always be available on this page.
